Aamir Khan Reveals Unreleased Film Trivia

On March 9, film enthusiasts were treated to an engaging conversation between superstar Aamir Khan and renowned lyricist Javed Akhtar. During their discussion, Khan shared intriguing insights about an unproduced film concept originally intended for him by director Rajkumar Hirani. This revelation included details about a Gujarati film inspired by the same storyline, which unfortunately never saw the light of day.

Aamir Khan’s Fascinating Film Insights

Aamir Khan captivated the audience as he recounted a pivotal moment in his career. He revealed that Rajkumar Hirani had initially approached him for a film project following the success of Munna Bhai MBBS (2003) and before 3 Idiots (2009). However, the script underwent significant changes, leading to the creation of Lage Raho Munna Bhai (2006). Khan elaborated on the original concept, which was set in pre-independence India. The protagonist, a freedom fighter and Gandhian, suffers severe injuries during a lathi charge and falls into a coma. He awakens decades later, unaware of Gandhi’s assassination and the changes in the world around him, leading to poignant interactions with the spirit of Gandhi.

The Unreleased Gujarati Film

Khan’s revelations took an interesting turn as he mentioned that a Gujarati film titled Bapu Kyan Chhe? was made based on this original storyline. The film features Dharmendra Gohil, Avani Modi, and Mihir Bhuta, and tells the story of a man who collaborates with Mahatma Gandhi. After slipping into a coma during the chaos surrounding Gandhi’s assassination, he wakes up in modern times, yearning to meet Gandhi. His family attempts to recreate the past by dressing up as historical figures, including Gandhi, Nehru, and Sardar Patel, to fulfill his wish. Despite its intriguing premise, Bapu Kyan Chhe? has never been released, despite initial announcements in 2016 and 2017 regarding its theatrical debut.

Behind the Scenes of Bapu Kyan Chhe?

The film Bapu Kyan Chhe? was written and directed by Pankaj Trivedi, known for his work on films like Apna Sapna Money Money and the television series Wagle Ki Duniya. The cast and crew had engaged with the press back in 2016, generating excitement about the film’s release. However, despite the anticipation, it has remained unreleased, leaving fans and industry insiders curious about its fate. The story’s unique blend of historical context and emotional depth has led many to speculate about its potential impact had it been brought to the big screen.
