For rolling stock, the budgetary provision was ₹50,903 crore, with ₹40,367 crore already utilized, representing 79 percent of the allocated budget. In safety-related works, ₹34,412 crore was allocated, and ₹28,281 crore has been spent, which is 82 percent of the budget.
The government has prioritized transforming Indian Railways into a world-class entity. On average, the railways transport 2.3 crore Indians daily, making it an essential part of the country’s infrastructure.
