Salman Khan Makes a Comeback to Playback Singing After 11 Years with ‘Teri Sexy Beauty’ from Maatrubhumi

Salman Khan has made a notable return to playback singing after more than a decade with his new track, “Teri Sexy Beauty,” from the upcoming film Maatrubhumi. The song was released early Wednesday on the Salman Khan Films Music YouTube channel, adding to the film’s expanding music album. Fans are excited to see the actor back in the recording studio, showcasing his musical talents once again.
Music Video Highlights
The music video begins with Salman entering a recording studio, donning headphones and singing the catchy track. Chitrangda Singh, who plays his wife in the film, is featured playing the guitar while dressed in a striking red sari. The lyrics of the song include, “Teri sexy beauty ka fan ban gaya hu man, main do peg pee ke aeroplane ban gaya hu,” setting a lively tone for the visuals.
Set in an airplane hangar, the video showcases Chitrangda and background dancers dressed as air hostesses in red outfits, with some playing the trumpet. Salman is seen dancing alongside a group of men, who appear to be his fellow soldiers enjoying their time off. The chemistry between Salman and Chitrangda is evident as they join each other on the dance floor, marking their first on-screen pairing.
A Long-Awaited Return
Written and composed by Sajid Khan, “Teri Sexy Beauty” features Muskaan on female vocals. This marks Salman’s return to singing after 11 years, following his previous contributions to films like “Main Hoon Hero Tera” from the 2015 film Hero and “Hangover” from the 2014 action comedy Kick. With this release, the makers have unveiled five songs from Maatrubhumi, although the film’s theatrical release date remains unannounced.
The album includes a patriotic title track composed by Himesh Reshammiya, featuring vocals by Shreya Ghoshal and Arijit Singh. Other songs include “Main Hoon,” composed and sung by Ayaan Lall, and “Chand Dekh Lena,” featuring vocals by Nihal Tauro and Ankona Mukherjee. Another patriotic number, “Jai Hind,” was released last month with Stebin Ben on vocals. “Teri Sexy Beauty” stands out as the peppiest number from the film so far.
Film Background and Release Status
Produced by Salman Khan Films and directed by Apoorva Lakhia, Maatrubhumi has been awaiting its release amid concerns regarding its portrayal of the Indo-China conflict. Initially titled Battle of Galwan, the film is based on the 2020 clash between Indian and Chinese troops in the Galwan Valley of Eastern Ladakh. It was later renamed Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace.
Reports indicate that parts of the film were reshot to introduce a family-drama angle, shifting the focus from a strictly military narrative. Despite these changes, the film has yet to receive a screening date from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Originally scheduled for an April release, the makers have not announced a revised date.
