NEET-PG 2026 Examination Conducted Seamlessly Across India
The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) successfully administered the NEET-PG 2026 examination on August 30, 2026. With meticulous logistical planning and robust security measures, the examination was carried out across the country, ensuring a smooth and fair experience for candidates.
This year, the examination saw participation from 2,73,096 candidates at 1,111 centers located in 339 cities throughout all 36 states and Union Territories. Ultimately, 2,65,980 candidates took part, with completion reported from approximately 2,63,535 individuals.
Comprehensive Security Measures in Place
The NBEMS implemented extensive real-time monitoring and stringent security protocols during the examination. To ensure proper oversight, 2,527 faculty members were appointed as Independent Appraisers, while over 700 senior faculty members, including Deans and Medical Superintendents, served as Flying Squad members across the exam sites.
A network of 16 NBEMS Regional Command Centres was also set up across the nation, enhancing communication and coordination. Each examination center was under live CCTV surveillance, monitored continuously from the NBEMS Command Centre in Dwarka. A specialized team of 190 personnel from NBEMS and TCS was dedicated to overseeing real-time operations.
Aadhaar Authentication and Technical Challenges
In an effort to bolster security and prevent impersonation, Aadhaar-based authentication was successfully employed for candidates at the examination centers. Full support was extended by government agencies to facilitate a secure examination environment.
However, a technical disruption occurred in Jaipur at the iON Digital Zone Sitapura Centers (TC Nos. 41682 and 41683), where 2,445 candidates were unable to complete their exams due to power supply issues attributed to TCS Ltd. The NBEMS expressed regret over the inconvenience experienced by these candidates.
Re-examination Scheduled for Affected Candidates
To address the situation, a re-examination for the affected candidates has been scheduled for September 5, 2026, at 3:00 PM in Jaipur. Specific venue details and further instructions will be communicated directly to the concerned candidates.
The successful management of the NEET-PG 2026 across 1,111 examination centers showcases the impressive coordination among various stakeholders, including examination authorities, medical institutions, and security teams.
