Telangana’s Parishrama Adalat Resolves ₹8.29 Crore in Delayed Payments
The ‘Parishrama Adalat,’ a Conciliation Conclave aimed at resolving disputes over delayed payments in the Micro and Small Enterprise (MSE) sector, recently achieved notable success in Hyderabad. Organized by the Commissionerate of Industries and Commerce in collaboration with the Ministry of MSME, this event resolved 65 payment disputes amounting to a remarkable ₹8.29 crore. Attendees included MSEs, public sector enterprises, buyers, MSE Facilitation Councils, and officials from both the Ministry of MSME and the Telangana government.
For many Micro and Small Enterprises, delayed payments extend beyond mere administrative issues; they threaten jobs, disrupt cash flow for purchasing raw materials, and impede loan repayments. The Parishrama Adalat illustrated how prompt dispute resolution is essential for maintaining business continuity and fostering trust within commercial networks.
Entrepreneurs shared impactful stories highlighting the importance of resolving payment delays. For example, Mrs. Shalini from Neemus Software Solutions Pvt. Ltd. recounted her struggles with payment delays, stating that such issues drained her company’s resources and confidence. After engaging in the conciliation process, she successfully resolved nine out of eleven pending payments, restoring her company’s operational stability.
Recovering Confidence and Preserving Relationships
Sri Mukund Maheshwari, representing Nagarjuna Agro Chemicals Pvt. Ltd., spoke about how intervention from the Council helped him recover payments that had previously been ignored by a buyer. He emphasized the significance of cash flow, describing it as “the oxygen of industry.”
Another entrepreneur, Sri Atmakuri Nammalwar of Sree Solutions, shared his experience of waiting over two years for payments. Through the dispute mechanisms, he managed to recover almost ₹30 lakh within just a few months.
Inclusive Solutions for Every Entrepreneur
A particularly compelling case emerged from Karimnagar, showcasing the critical need for accessible dispute resolution. A person with a disability running a pipes business successfully pursued approximately ₹11 lakh in delayed payments, underscoring that barriers should not prevent any entrepreneur from seeking justice.
Likewise, Hyderabad Ammonia & Chemicals Pvt. Ltd. faced financial stress due to unpaid dues totaling ₹79 lakh. However, three conciliation meetings helped facilitate progress, leading to the recovery of ₹54 lakh from various buyers.
Technological Integration in Dispute Resolution
The ODR platform, inaugurated in 2025, has merged technology with traditional mediation protocols, enhancing the efficiency of resolving delayed payment issues. Director of RAMP, Ms. Ankita Pandey, highlighted the evolution from the Samadhan Portal to the current ODR ecosystem, noting that over 800 cases have been addressed in Telangana, with many already resolved.
Commissioner of Industries, Shri J. Nikhil Chakravarthi, reinforced the government’s commitment to strengthening the MSME sector through technology and improved institutional methods, aiming to enhance the overall ease of doing business.
The Parishrama Adalat has demonstrated that its success is not solely measured by the number of resolved disputes but also by the positive impact on businesses. By combining mediation approaches with advancing technology, the initiative reduces hurdles for entrepreneurs facing legitimate claims and seeking swift resolutions.
