India Gears Up for Fifth Coast Guard Global Summit in 2027

In a significant development, India is set to host the fifth Coast Guard Global Summit (CGGS) in New Delhi in February 2027, aligning with the celebration of the Swarnim Jayanti of the Bharatiya Tatrakshak. To pave the way for this major event, the Bharatiya Tatrakshak organized a Working Level Meeting (WLM) today, conducted in a hybrid format, to discuss essential preparations.

The meeting’s agenda centered on various vital aspects, including the refinement of the CGGS Meeting Guidelines and the enhancement of the Information Sharing Mechanism. Additionally, discussions revolved around the future development and management of the CGGS website, with a focus on improving collective capacity building. Participants explored strategies to foster better professional exchanges, share operational experiences, and promote best practices among maritime agencies.

This Working Level Meeting served as a crucial platform to facilitate dialogue and coordination among various participating maritime organizations, contributing significantly to the institutional preparations for the upcoming summit. As part of these discussions, the proposed Activity Calendar was reviewed, outlining future collaborative efforts aimed at nurturing sustained cooperation and bolstering maritime partnerships.
