Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue 2027: A Pathway for Youth Leadership

The Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue (VBYLD) 2027 has officially started with the unveiling of the Viksit Bharat Quiz, inviting young Indians to embark on a journey of leadership and innovation. This initiative aims to equip aspiring leaders with a structured, merit-based platform that culminates in a national event in New Delhi, where selected participants will have the unique opportunity to present their ideas to the Prime Minister.

Launched in line with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision, VBYLD seeks to cultivate one lakh young leaders from non-political backgrounds. The program is designed to empower talented youth who lack a political lineage, enabling them to contribute actively to nation-building and public discourse.

Open Call for Participation in the Viksit Bharat Quiz

The Viksit Bharat Quiz marks the first step in a comprehensive five-stage challenge that is now open for participation on the MY Bharat portal until September 30, 2026. Young Indians aged 15 to 29 can engage in this digital quiz, which features multiple languages, ensuring accessibility for youth across the nation.

Those who excel will advance to the next stage—the Viksit Bharat Essay Challenge—where the top 10% of quiz participants, up to a maximum of four lakh, will be invited to submit an essay on a pre-defined theme.

Progressing Through Various Stages

The Viksit Bharat Challenge encompasses a progression that begins with the quiz, followed by the essay challenge, district championships, state/UT-level competitions, and concludes with the National VBYLD.

During the District Championships, taking place from November 10 to 16, 2026, the top 50 essays from each district will be selected for oral presentations. The two best presenters from each district will qualify for the subsequent State VBYLD scheduled between November 17 and December 7, 2026.

Showcasing Talent Through Diverse Tracks

VBYLD 2027 will feature six main tracks, each aimed at fostering young talent and promoting innovative solutions:

  • Viksit Bharat Challenge: Aimed at generating ideas for Viksit Bharat @2047 through a comprehensive selection process.
  • Cultural Track: Competitions in various cultural forms, showcasing India’s rich heritage.
  • Design for Bharat: A design challenge focusing on user-friendly solutions for developmental issues.
  • Hack for Social Cause: A challenge encouraging tech-based solutions for societal challenges.
  • Youth Entrepreneurs Challenge: A platform for young entrepreneurs to pitch their innovative business plans.
  • Youth Parliament: Integrating young leaders into the national dialogue with discussions at various levels.

Focusing on Regional Development Priorities

To address India’s varied development needs, the Viksit Bharat Challenge will utilize a 10-region framework. Each region will focus on specific themes such as governance, climate security, and innovation, empowering youth to devise localized solutions and contribute effectively to India’s growth narrative.

Final Presentation at National Dialogue

The journey for participants will reach its peak at the National VBYLD in New Delhi from January 10 to 12, 2027. Here, selected teams will present their innovative ideas before a panel of experts and government officials, including the Prime Minister, marking a significant milestone in youth engagement and leadership.
