NCH Clarifies Homoeopathy Practitioners’ Regulatory Boundaries
The National Commission for Homoeopathy (NCH) has issued an important clarification regarding the regulatory framework governing the practice of different medical systems by Homoeopathic practitioners. This announcement aims to ensure that the related regulations are well understood and accurately reported within their proper context.
According to Regulation 36(y) of the National Commission for Homoeopathy’s 2022 guidelines, practitioners of Homoeopathy are prohibited from practicing any other form of medicine apart from Homoeopathy. This rule is designed to maintain the integrity and focus of the Homoeopathic profession.
However, there is a significant exception noted in the provisions of Regulation 36(y). The regulation allows Homoeopathic medical practitioners to engage in practices under National Health Programs or initiatives led by Central or State Governments. This is applicable only if the practitioners have undergone appropriate training or courses that are recognized by competent authorities.
Additionally, the NCH highlighted Sub-regulation (7) of Regulation 14 within its 2022 Homoeopathy Graduate Degree Course regulations. This specific sub-regulation acknowledges the vital role that Homoeopathic medical graduates play in Government health facilities and within various National Health Programs, underscoring their contributions to public health.
This recent clarification from the NCH points to a broader intent to ensure that the provisions of Regulation 36(y), including its exceptions, are interpreted correctly and communicated effectively.
