On this special occasion, Monali P. Dhakate, Joint Secretary of the Ministry, stressed that healthy ageing encompasses physical, mental, emotional, and social wellness. She pointed out that yoga plays a vital role in fostering active and dignified ageing, serving as a powerful tool for seniors’ well-being.

Commitment to Inclusion and Well-Being

The Ministry reaffirmed its dedication to creating an inclusive, age-responsive environment that enhances the health and participation of senior citizens across India. Through initiatives like the International Day of Yoga and various ongoing welfare programs, the Ministry aims to promote healthy ageing, social inclusion, and an improved quality of life for elderly citizens nationwide.

With events like IDY, the Ministry is not just celebrating yoga but also emphasizing the importance of active engagement and well-being in the lives of senior citizens.
