CISF Unveils New Headquarters in Delhi, Enhances Welfare Initiatives

In a significant step towards bolstering the infrastructure of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Shri Bandi Sanjay Kumar, laid the foundation stone for the new Force Headquarters building at the CGO Complex, Lodhi Road, New Delhi today. The event also marked the inauguration of several crucial infrastructure projects worth ₹136.03 crore, demonstrating the government’s commitment to enhancing the operational capabilities of the CISF.

The ceremony witnessed the presence of key dignitaries, including Union Home Secretary Shri Govind Mohan, Director Intelligence Bureau Shri Tapan Kumar Deka, and Director General of CISF, Shri Praveer Ranjan, along with senior officers from Central Armed Police Forces and various officials involved in the project.

New Headquarters Building Set to Modernize Operations

The new CISF Headquarters building, with an estimated cost of ₹75.78 crore, is being constructed by the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) and will serve as the central hub for the Force’s administrative, operational, and strategic initiatives. This state-of-the-art nine-storey facility will accommodate the offices of the Director General, various branches of the Force, a Control Room, conference areas, an auditorium, a library, a gymnasium, and other modern amenities.

Infrastructure Upgrades Across Various Locations

During the ceremony, Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar also inaugurated three vital infrastructure projects: the Subordinate Officers’ Mess (Aditya) at the National Industrial Security Academy (NISA) in Hyderabad, constructed for ₹34.22 crore; the Advanced Training Building (Abhyas) at NISA, costing ₹20.53 crore; and the Subordinate Officers’ Quarters at the 4th Reserve Battalion in Amravatipuram, Sivagangai, Tamil Nadu, built at a cost of ₹5.50 crore.

Additionally, the Minister provided financial assistance of ₹1 crore under the Personal Accident Insurance Scheme to the families of deceased CISF personnel. He also announced the presentation of customized motorable wheelchairs to differently-abled children of CISF personnel, reflecting the government’s initiative to support the families of its members.

Commitment to Personnel Welfare

In his address, Shri Bandi Sanjay Kumar emphasized the government’s dedication to CAPFs personnel welfare and their families. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah, initiatives have been introduced, such as cashless healthcare facilities and a transparent housing allotment system. The Minister expressed gratitude for programs like Project MANN, which focuses on mental health support, and the Kendriya Police Kalyan Bhandar network that provides financial relief.

CISF’s Role in Modern Security Landscape

Director General Shri Praveer Ranjan highlighted the evolving security challenges faced by the CISF, noting an increase in hybrid threats, including cyber-attacks and digital sabotage. He informed attendees about the Force’s new responsibilities, including security audits in major ports under the ISPS Code and expanded roles in internal security management across high-profile correctional facilities.

Shri Ranjan announced advancements in technology-led security, mentioning the development of RTC Behror as a Centre of Excellence for drone and anti-drone technology, and the establishment of specialized cyber security teams in partnership with leading institutions.

The event is particularly significant as the nation approaches the 150th anniversary year of Vande Mataram, symbolizing the CISF’s unwavering commitment to national service, security, and development.
