Sri Lanka’s President Recognizes Modi’s Leadership

In a letter dated June 8, 2026, H.E. Anura Kumara Disanayaka, the President of Sri Lanka, extended warm congratulations on behalf of the government and people of Sri Lanka. President Disanayaka emphasized that this achievement reflects the trust and confidence placed in Modi by the citizens of the world’s largest democracy. He noted India’s impressive economic and social changes, underscoring how Modi’s vision has inspired nations, including Sri Lanka. During Modi’s visit to Sri Lanka from April 4-6, 2025, he was honored with the Mitra Vibhushana, Sri Lanka’s highest civilian award for foreign dignitaries, reaffirming India’s Neighbourhood First policy and support during Sri Lanka’s economic challenges in 2022.

Papua New Guinea’s Prime Minister Applauds Economic Progress

In a personal video message, H.E. James Marape, Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea, praised Modi as “a role model and an example of leadership.” He commended the Prime Minister for lifting over 200 million people out of poverty, calling it an extraordinary achievement. Marape expressed Papua New Guinea’s friendship and eagerness to strengthen bilateral relationships. Trinidad and Tobago’s Prime Minister Highlights Global Influence

H.E. Kamla Persad-Bissessar, Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, also sent her congratulations, stating that “under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, India has evolved as a leading voice on global matters.” She reflected on Modi’s journey from humble beginnings to leading a diverse nation of 1.4 billion people across three terms. Persad-Bissessar noted India’s major strides in foreign policy, economic advancement, infrastructure development, and social progress. Modi’s landmark visit to Trinidad and Tobago on July 3-4, 2025, marked the first bilateral visit by an Indian Prime Minister in 26 years, coinciding with the 180th anniversary of Indian immigration to the nation.
