IIMC Launches E-Counselling for MA and PG Diploma Admissions

The Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC), renowned for its media education, has commenced the e-counselling process for admissions to six Master of Arts (MA) and four Post Graduate Diploma programmes. Interested candidates can register at IIMC Admissions until June 7, 2026. The first allotment results will be announced on June 9.

New Programmes Introduced

This year, IIMC is excited to unveil three fresh MA programmes: MA in Health Communication, MA in Media and Communication Governance, and MA in Corporate Communication and Brand Management. These additions bring the total to six MA programmes offered across IIMC’s six campuses, which are located in New Delhi, Dhenkanal, Aizawl, Amravati, Jammu, and Kottayam. According to Prof. (Dr.) Rakesh Kumar Goswami, the Admission Incharge and Controller of Examinations, these expansions reflect IIMC’s commitment to adapting to the evolving landscape of media education.

Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the MA programmes, candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 55% marks, along with a valid CUET-PG score in Mass Communication and Journalism (COQP17). For the PG Diploma programmes, graduates need a valid CUET-PG score in the same subject. Additionally, there are age limits: the upper age limit for PG Diploma admissions is set at 25 years for General category candidates, 28 years for OBC candidates, and 30 years for SC/ST/PwD candidates as of August 1, 2026.

Application Process and Fee Structure

Applicants are strongly encouraged to read the admission notice and prospectus before starting their registration. Careful selection of programme and campus preferences during registration is crucial, as changes cannot be made post-submission. Once allocated a seat, candidates must pay a seat acceptance fee of ₹20,000 to secure their admission. The remaining tuition fee needs to be settled within the specified timeline to finalize the admission process.

Documentation Requirements

Candidates must submit a high school certificate for verification of their date of birth, along with their final graduation mark sheet. Those awaiting their graduation results should ensure that all required documents are submitted by the given deadlines. For candidates from reserved categories who cannot provide the caste certificate initially, an undertaking may be submitted, followed by the certificate within the specified timeframe.
