Bharat Tribes Fest 2026 Extended Amidst Public Enthusiasm

In a response to the surging public interest and participation, the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, in collaboration with TRIFED, has decided to extend the Bharat Tribes Fest 2026 until April 5, 2026. This extension aims to capitalize on the enthusiasm shown by attendees, stakeholders, and participants, while bolstering market access and livelihood opportunities for tribal artisans, self-help groups, and entrepreneurs from across India.

Held at Sunder Nursery in New Delhi, the Bharat Tribes Fest has established itself as a dynamic platform that showcases the diverse and rich heritage of India’s tribal communities. The festival features traditional crafts, handlooms, indigenous cuisine, and entrepreneurial ventures, attracting significant foot traffic. Over 1,000 tribal artisans, chefs, and cultural performers from various regions are participating, representing the cultural tapestry of the nation.

Festival Highlights and Participation

The event highlights include participation from 78 Van Dhan Vikas Kendras (VDVKs) across 22 states, with more than 300 exhibitors showcasing art and crafts from 28 states. Additionally, 120 food participants are operating around 30 stalls, presenting culinary delights from 21 states. The continued engagement allows artisans and producers to interact directly with consumers, which is vital for achieving better price realization and expanding visibility for tribal products.

Key Engagements and Workshops

Beyond exhibitions and product sales, the festival will conduct critical gatherings, including the Bharat Tribes Business Conclave and CSR Conclave, which facilitate knowledge exchange, partnerships, and capacity building for tribal stakeholders. One of the key events will be the Van Dhan Conclave, set to take place on March 29, 2026, featuring a variety of sessions focused on sustainable livelihoods, market linkages, and the enhancement of tribal entrepreneurship. This conclave will be inaugurated by Shri Durgadas Uikey, the Hon’ble Minister of State for Tribal Affairs, along with other esteemed dignitaries.

Commitment to Tribal Empowerment

The Ministry of Tribal Affairs reiterated its commitment to the welfare and empowerment of tribal communities through initiatives designed to promote sustainable livelihoods, maintain traditional knowledge systems, and enhance market connections. As the festival continues, visitors are encouraged to take full advantage of the extended schedule and immerse themselves in the vibrant spirit of Tribal India at the Bharat Tribes Fest 2026.
