Report Reveals Trump Mobile T1 Not Fully Manufactured in the US, Limited Domestic Assembly Planned

The Trump Mobile T1 smartphone, initially promoted with a “Made in the United States” branding, will now be primarily manufactured overseas, with only limited assembly taking place in the U.S. This shift comes as the company faces challenges in meeting the stringent requirements for American-made products. Executives from Trump Mobile have confirmed that the redesigned device is set to launch by late March 2026, following delays from its original June 2025 announcement. The new model boasts upgraded specifications, including a larger display and enhanced camera features.

Production Shift and Assembly Plans

Trump Mobile executives Don Hendrickson and Eric Thomas revealed to The Verge that the production of the T1 smartphone will not adhere to its initial American manufacturing claims. Instead, the device will be produced in a “favored nation,” with only a limited final assembly stage occurring in Miami. This change is significant, as the Federal Trade Commission mandates that products labeled as American-made must contain no foreign content, a requirement that is challenging to fulfill in today’s global supply chain. The final assembly in Miami is expected to involve the integration of the last components before the device is shipped to customers.

Specifications and Features of the Redesigned T1

The redesigned Trump Mobile T1 will feature a larger display, measuring approximately 6.8 inches, compared to the previous 6.25-inch version. The smartphone will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7-series chipset and will come with 512GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 1TB via microSD. Camera capabilities are also set to improve, with both the front and rear cameras expected to have 50MP sensors. Additionally, the device will include a robust 5,000mAh battery and support for various connectivity standards, having already received FCC certification.

Pricing and Availability

For customers who previously placed a $100 deposit, the T1 smartphone will be available at the originally stated introductory price of $499. However, the final retail price for new buyers has yet to be disclosed, though it is anticipated to be higher than $499 and below $1,000. The company is also in the process of relaunching its website, which will feature updated product images and detailed specifications. The T1 is currently undergoing carrier certification with T-Mobile, expected to be completed by mid-March, paving the way for sales to commence shortly thereafter.

Design Changes and Branding Updates

The Trump Mobile T1 will showcase several design modifications, including the removal of the previous “T1” logo on the rear. However, it will maintain its distinctive gold finish and updated branding elements. The rear camera layout has also been redesigned, shifting from a square module to a vertical oval housing that accommodates triple lenses. These changes reflect the company’s efforts to enhance the device’s appeal while aligning with modern smartphone aesthetics.
