Celebrating the Backbone of Women and Child Development
In a heartfelt tribute to India’s grassroots warriors, the Ministry of Women and Child Development hosted over 200 Anganwadi Workers and other frontline field functionaries at the Republic Day Ceremony on January 26, 2026, in New Delhi. These special guests were accompanied by their spouses and were recognized for their unwavering efforts in empowering women and children across the nation, reflecting Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of enhancing service delivery and promoting people-centric development.
Honoring Dedication and Service
The honored guests, who hailed from various states, spent three days in New Delhi from January 24 to 27, 2026. Their visit included enriching experiences that showcased India’s diverse cultural heritage and developmental milestones, further enhanced by visits to historic sites such as the Pradhan Mantri Sangrahalaya and the Akshardham Temple.
Interactive Session with Ministers
On January 25, the Ministry organized an interactive session featuring prominent officials, including Smt. Annpurna Devi, the Union Minister for Women and Child Development, Smt. Savitri Thakur, the Minister of State, and Shri Anil Malik, the Secretary of the Ministry. During this event, the Ministers recognized the remarkable dedication of the frontline workers and reiterated the Ministry’s commitment to bolstering grassroots institutions and improving service delivery.

In her address, Smt.
