ISPL Launches Bidding for Co-Ownership of Akshay Kumar’s Srinagar Ke Veer

The Indian Street Premier League (ISPL) is opening bids for the co-ownership of the Srinagar Ke Veer franchise, which is owned by Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar. This opportunity allows investors and corporations to partner with a rapidly growing cricket league. The bidding will remain open until January 31. Srinagar Ke Veer has shown impressive performance in the league, reaching the semi-finals in its inaugural season and finishing as runners-up in the second season, which has helped to cultivate a loyal fan base.
ISPL’s Growth and Popularity
Launched in 2024, the ISPL has quickly become India’s leading tennis-ball T10 cricket league, merging grassroots participation with mass entertainment. The league is overseen by a distinguished Core Committee that includes cricket legends like Sachin Tendulkar and Ashish Shelar, ensuring professional governance and strategic direction. The involvement of high-profile celebrity co-owners, such as Amitabh Bachchan and Salman Khan, has further enhanced the league’s appeal, blending sports with popular culture and expanding its reach across the nation.
The league’s growth is evident in its impressive viewership statistics. Season 2 attracted over 28 million viewers on television, marking a 47% increase in viewership compared to the previous season. Additionally, digital platforms recorded 47.4 million video views. The league has also seen a surge in player registrations, surpassing 4.4 million in Season 3, with trials conducted in 101 cities across India.
Franchise Co-Ownership Opportunity
Suraj Samat, a member of the Core Committee and the League Commissioner, emphasized that the co-ownership model for Srinagar Ke Veer allows partners to engage in the franchise’s value creation while contributing to the league’s overall growth. This model is designed to attract investors who are interested in being part of a scalable sports property with strong commercial potential. The collaboration with Akshay Kumar adds a unique dimension to the franchise, enhancing its marketability and appeal.
The ISPL is currently in its third season, running from January 9 to February 6 at the Lalbhai Contractor Stadium in Surat. This season features an expanded competition with eight teams, further solidifying the league’s commitment to building a structured national framework for cricket that connects grassroots talent to the national stage. Broadcast live on the Star Sports Network and streamed on JioHotstar, the league offers extensive visibility for its franchises, making it an attractive investment opportunity.
