Indian Railways, in collaboration with the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), has unveiled an exciting initiative aimed at enhancing the onboard dining experience for passengers traveling on Vande Bharat trains. This new service showcases the vibrant and diverse culinary traditions of India, allowing passengers to enjoy regional specialties from the comfort of their seats.

Taste the Flavors of India

Passengers on the 20101/20102 Nagpur–Secunderabad Vande Bharat Express can indulge in traditional Maharashtra dishes such as Kanda Poha and South Indian delicacies like Dondakaya Karam Podi Fry. Food enthusiasts can also savor Andhra Pradesh’s iconic Andhra Kodi Kura. Meanwhile, travelers on the 20901 MMCT–GNC Vande Bharat Express will experience Gujarati flavors with Methi Thepla, while those on the 26902 SBIB–VRL Vande Bharat Express can enjoy Masala Lauki. Additionally, Odisha’s famous Aloo Phulkopi is served on the 22895 Howrah–Puri Vande Bharat Express.

A Culinary Journey Across Regions

The initiative extends to Kerala, where passengers aboard the 20633/34 Kasargod–Trivandrum Vande Bharat Express will find a traditional feast featuring white rice, Pachakka Cherupayar Mezhukku Perati, Kadala Curry, Kerala Paratha, plain curd, and sweet Palada Payasam. Travelers on the 20631/32 Mangalore–Trivandrum route can also enjoy this delightful spread. West Bengal’s culinary offerings include Kosha Paneer on the 20872 ROU–HWH Vande Bharat Express, while Aloo Potol Bhaja is available for those taking the 22895 HWH–PURI route.

Signature Dishes from Every Corner

Bihar gets a spotlight with signature dishes such as Champaran Paneer, available on the 22349 PNBE–RNC Vande Bharat Express, and Champaran Chicken served on the 22348 PNBE–HWH Vande Bharat Express. Additionally, Dogri cuisine lovers can savor Ambal Kaddu and Jammu Chana Masala on trains 26401–02 and 26403–04. For those traveling to Kashmir, the SVDK–SINA Vande Bharat Express features specialties like Tomato Chaman and Kesar Phirni. Passengers can also enjoy Maharashtra’s Masala Upma on the 22229 CSMT–MAO Vande Bharat Express and West Bengal’s Murgir Jhol on the 22302 NJP–HWH Vande Bharat Express. This initiative not only highlights India’s rich culinary diversity but also makes train journeys more memorable and culturally immersive.
