Waqf Boards Commend IIT Delhi Study on Waqf Properties at Lakshadweep Review Meeting
The Ministry of Minority Affairs recently held a significant review meeting on Kavaratti Island, focusing on the progress of Waqf property data uploads to the UMEED Central Portal. The meeting saw robust participation from the Lakshadweep Waqf Board, along with senior officials from the Maharashtra and Gujarat Waqf Boards. Key figures included Shri S. P. Singh Teotia, Director (Waqf), and Shri Samir Sinha, Deputy Secretary from the Ministry of Minority Affairs. They engaged with CEOs from the respective Waqf Boards: Shri T. K. Rafeek from Lakshadweep, Shri B. Sayyad from Maharashtra, and Shri Abedhusen Hajibhai Mansuri from Gujarat. The discussions primarily revolved around reviewing the ongoing efforts in data digitization, streamlining operational workflows, and enhancing coordination between the state Waqf Boards and the central portal team.
