EPFO Barkatpura, Hyderabad Achieves New Standards in Member Service Delivery

The Employeesโ€™ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) Regional Office in Barkatpura has made significant strides in social security administration during the fiscal year 2024-25. Building on its legacy since 1952, the office has excelled in service delivery, digital transformation, and financial recovery. With a focus on enhancing member services, the Barkatpura office manages a vast network of establishments and accounts, providing essential support to a large number of pensioners and contributing members across six districts in Telangana.

Service Delivery Enhancements

In 2024-25, the Barkatpura office has successfully implemented several key initiatives aimed at improving service delivery. One of the standout achievements is the expansion of the Automatic Claim Settlement system, which now processes an average of 30,001 auto-claims each month. This improvement has drastically reduced the claim processing time from ten days to just three to four days, providing swift relief to members. Additionally, the introduction of the Centralised Pension Payment System (CPPS) has allowed pensioners to access their benefits seamlessly from any bank across the country.

The office has also embraced technology with the implementation of Face Authentication Technology, enabling pensioners to submit Digital Life Certificates from the comfort of their homes using smartphones. This innovation eliminates the need for physical visits to service centers. Furthermore, the office has adopted paperless reforms in line with Aadhaar-linked Universal Account Number (UAN) norms, which have streamlined the claim settlement process by removing the requirement for cheque leaf submissions and employer attestations. On average, the office processes 66,379 claims and addresses 5,988 grievances each month, underscoring its commitment to transparency and responsiveness.

Member-Centric Initiatives

Beyond the central reforms, the Barkatpura office has introduced several member-focused services to enhance the experience for its users. A dedicated Women Help Desk has been established to provide tailored support for female EPF members, ensuring their specific needs are met. Additionally, a Death Claim Verification Desk has been set up to expedite support during times of bereavement, helping families navigate the claims process more easily.

The office has also launched a Digital Touchscreen Kiosk, which serves as a self-service facility where members can access frequently asked questions and informative videos about EPFO services. These initiatives reflect the office’s commitment to improving member engagement and support, ensuring that all members have the resources they need at their fingertips.

Financial Achievements and Recognition

In the fiscal year 2024-25, the Barkatpura office achieved a remarkable 90% recovery rate of Arrear Demand, significantly bolstering the financial health of the EPFO. The office disbursed a total of โ‚น48.41 crore in monthly pensions and โ‚น153.95 crore under Provident Fund (PF) and Employeesโ€™ Deposit Linked Insurance (EDLI) schemes. These figures highlight the office’s crucial role in ensuring financial security for the workforce.

In recognition of its exemplary service delivery, the Barkatpura office received the Best Office in Grievance Management Award at the Bhavishya Nidhi Awards 2024. Furthermore, following a landmark Supreme Court judgment in November 2022 regarding Pension on Higher Wages (PoHW), the office led the nation by processing 98% of received applications, thereby providing enhanced pension benefits to eligible members efficiently.

Commitment to Continuous Improvement

The Barkatpura office is dedicated to continuous improvement and modernization of its services. Plans are underway for the renovation of its Facilitation Centre and Public Relations (PRO) Desk, aiming to create a more accessible and contemporary service environment for members. The office’s performance exemplifies the Government of India’s commitment to delivering timely, transparent, and technology-driven social security for all workers, ensuring that the needs of its members are met with efficiency and care.
