Combined Graduation Parade at Air Force Academy

The Combined Graduation Parade (CGP) took place at the Air Force Academy (AFA) in Dundigal, Hyderabad, on June 14, 2025, celebrating the successful completion of pre-commissioning training for flight cadets in both the Flying and Ground duty branches of the Indian Air Force (IAF). Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, the Chief of the Air Staff, presided over the event as the Reviewing Officer, awarding the President’s Commission to 254 graduating cadets, which included both men and women. The ceremony was attended by dignitaries and the families of the graduates, marking a significant milestone in their military careers.

Parade Highlights and Dignitary Attendance

The parade commenced with a warm welcome for Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, who was greeted by Air Marshal Tejinder Singh, the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Training Command, and Air Marshal PK Vohra, the Commandant of the AFA. The Reviewing Officer received a General Salute from the parade, followed by an impressive march past that showcased the discipline and training of the cadets. During the ceremony, nine officers from the Indian Navy, seven from the Indian Coast Guard, and one trainee from a friendly foreign country were awarded ‘Wings’ for successfully completing their flying training. The event also featured captivating performances by the Akash Ganga team, the Air Warrior Drill Team, and the Suryakiran aerobatic team, which thrilled the audience with synchronized aerobatics. The graduation parade was further enhanced by coordinated fly-pasts from various trainer aircraft, including the Pilatus PC-7 MkII, Hawk, Kiran Mk-1, and Chetak, showcasing the advanced capabilities of the IAF.

Acknowledgments and Awards

In recognition of outstanding performance during training, the Reviewing Officer honored several graduates. Flying Officer Rohan Krishnamurti from the Flying branch received the President’s Plaque and the Chief of the Air Staff Sword of Honour for achieving the top position in the Pilots’ course. Additionally, Flying Officer Nishtha Vaid was awarded the President’s Plaque for excelling in the Ground duty branches. These accolades reflect the dedication and hard work of the cadets throughout their training.

Addressing the newly commissioned officers, the Reviewing Officer praised their impeccable turnout and adherence to the highest standards of military discipline. He emphasized the importance of their roles in the evolving landscape of warfare and the increasing significance of aerospace power in national defense.
