Huawei has unveiled its latest innovation, the MateBook Fold Ultimate Design, during a launch event in China on Monday. This foldable laptop features a cutting-edge flexible OLED display that expands up to 18 inches, marking a significant advancement in laptop technology. With the introduction of LTPO technology, Huawei claims that the new display enhances energy efficiency by 30%. The device also boasts a unique basalt water drop hinge for a seamless look and supports both virtual and physical keyboards.

The Huawei MateBook Fold Ultimate Design is priced starting at CNY 23,999 for the model with 32GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. For those seeking more storage, the 32GB RAM and 2TB variant is available for CNY 26,999. Pre-orders for the laptop are currently open through the Huawei China e-store, with sales set to commence on June 6. Customers can choose from three color options: Cloud Water Blue, Forging Shadow Black, and Skyline White.

Equipped with an 18-inch 3K flexible LTPO OLED display, the Huawei MateBook Fold Ultimate Design offers a resolution of 3,296×2,472 pixels and a 4:3 aspect ratio. The display can achieve peak brightness levels of up to 1,600 nits and supports HDR10+, ensuring vibrant visuals. It also features TÜV Rheinland Eye Comfort 3.0 certification and a 1,440Hz PWM dimming rate. When folded, the device transforms into a 13-inch screen with a resolution of 2,472×1,648 pixels and a 3:2 aspect ratio.
While Huawei has not disclosed specific details about the chipset, the laptop operates on HarmonyOS 5 and supports up to 32GB of RAM and 2TB of SSD storage. An 8-megapixel front camera is also included, enhancing video conferencing capabilities. The device is powered by a 74.69Wh battery, which supports 140W wired fast charging via a USB Type-C port. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2, while audio is delivered through a six-speaker system and a quad-microphone setup.

Weighing in at 1.16kg, the device is designed for portability without compromising on performance. Additionally, it includes an integrated stand and supports a 5mm thin aluminum alloy portable keyboard, making it a versatile option for users on the go.
