Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi attended a public function for the 98th anniversary celebrations of Sadguru Sadafaldeo Vihangam Yog Sansthan at Swarved Mahamandir Dham in Umraha Gram, Uttar Pradesh.

The Prime Minister remembered yesterday’s dedication of grand Viswanath Dham at Mahadev’s feet in Kashi. He said the energy of Kashi isn’t just perennial, it’s always evolving. On the auspicious occasion of Gita Jayanti, he also bowed to Lord Krishna. As the armies faced off at Kurukshetra, humanity gained the ultimate knowledge of Yoga, Spirituality, and Paramarth. The Prime Minister said, “While bowing to Lord Krishna on this occasion, I extend hearty greetings to all of you and the countrymen on the occasion of Gita Jayanti.”

The Prime Minister paid homage to Sadguru Sadafaldeo ji. “I bow down to his spiritual presence. ‘I also want to thank Shri Swatantradev Ji Maharaj and Shri Vigyandev Ji Maharaj, who keep this tradition alive, giving it a new twist,” said the Prime Minister. In his remarks, the Prime Minister mentioned his contribution to the freedom struggle and marveled at India’s track record of supplying saints during hard times. “Our country is so great that when times are bad, a saint pops up to change things around. It is India whose biggest hero of freedom is called Mahatma by the world”, he added.

The Prime Minister talked about Kashi’s glory and importance. He said cities like Banaras have preserved the seeds of India’s identity, of art, of entrepreneurship, even in tough times. “Where there’s a seed, the tree grows. Because of this, when we talk about the development of Banaras, it also forms the roadmap for the development of the whole country”, he said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inspected key development projects in Kashi last night while in town for a two-day visit. Reiterated his commitment to the development work in Banaras. Last night after 12 o’clock, as soon as I had the chance, I went out again to see what was going on in my Kashi, what was done. The beautification work in Gadolia has become a sight to behold, he said. ‘I interacted with a lot of people there. In Manduadih, I saw Banaras railway station too. That was also renovated. By embracing the new and keeping the old, Banaras is giving the country a new direction,” he said.
