Chittarath Poovakkatt Krishnan Nair (9 February 1922 – 17 May 2014), the founder and chairman of Emirates of Hotel Leelaventure. He started his career with the Indian Army and initially set up a textile unit. Later in the year 1981, he started a luxury hospitality chain named Leela Palace, a hotel and resort brand. In February 2013, he resigned as chairman of Hotel Leelaventure, handing over the reins of the business to his sons Vivek and Dinesh Nair. He was born on 9 February 1922 in Kannur, Kerala.

Vishnu Khare (9 February 1940 โ€“ 19 September 2018), is an Indian Hindi poet, translator, literary and film critic, journalist, and scriptwriter. He wrote both in Hindi and English. He taught English literature at the university level, served as the Program Secretary of Sahitya Akademi, the National Academy of Letters in India, and was editor of the Hindi daily Navbharat Times in Lucknow, Jaipur, and New Delhi. He was born on 9 February 1940.

Shyama Charan Gupta, a Bharatiya Janata Party politician, the current MP from Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh. He is a member of the 14th Lok Sabha and 16th Lok Sabha. He was born on 9 February 1945.

Rahul Royย (born 9 February 1968) is an Indian actor, producer, and former model. He plays a lot of characters in Hindi films and TV series.

Parimarjan Negiย is a famous Grand Master player. He is the youngest Indian player to win the title of Grand Master. In 2005, Parimarjan Negi became the world’s youngest ‘International Master’. In 2002, Parimarjan achieved international success for the first time at the Under 10 Asian Championships in Tehran. He was born on 9 February 1993 in Uttarakhand, India.

Balkrishna Chapekar (1873 โ€“ 9 February 1899), was a famous freedom fighter in Indian history. He was highly influenced by Bal Gangadhar Tilak. He had implemented the anti-plague campaign due to his ruthless behavior. He died on 9 February 1899.

Baba Amte (24 December 1914 – 9 February 2008), a social worker, mainly known for his service to leprosy ‘charities destroys’, With the motto of ‘Work creates’, he has shown dignity to thousands of lepers as well as a ray of hope to the homeless and displaced tribals. His full name was Murlidhar Devidas Amte. He died on 9 February 2008 in Maharashtra.

O.P. Dutta (1922 โ€“ 9 February 2012), is an Indian filmmaker and writer. He began his career in 1948, as director for the film, ‘Pyar Ki Jeet’. The film catapulted her to a ‘Super Star’ sensation. He directed nine films until 1959, after which he got into writing dialogues, scripts, and stories for films. He died on 9 February 2012.
