Xtelify Unveils Airtel Cloud: A Gen AI-Ready Solution for Telecom Enterprises

Airtel’s subsidiary, Xtelify, has unveiled a new telco-grade cloud platform named Airtel Cloud, aimed at revolutionizing telecom operations. Initially developed to meet Airtel’s internal needs, this robust platform can process an impressive 140 crore transactions per minute. Now, Airtel is extending its capabilities to third-party telecom service providers through an Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) model. In conjunction with this launch, the company has also introduced an AI-powered software platform designed to enhance telecom operations.

Expansion of Airtel Cloud

Airtel has officially announced the expansion of its Airtel Cloud platform to third-party telecom businesses. This sovereign platform, built entirely in India, is engineered to handle a staggering 140 crore transactions per minute. The company emphasizes that Airtel Cloud is hosted on sustainable data centers, which utilize resources like water for cooling, showcasing a commitment to environmental responsibility. By offering this platform as IaaS and PaaS, Airtel aims to provide telecom operators with a reliable and secure infrastructure that can significantly enhance their operational efficiency.

Features and Benefits

The Airtel Cloud platform is designed to support advanced data and artificial intelligence workloads, featuring built-in capabilities for AI and machine learning operations. Airtel claims that its services are not only highly secure but also reliable, offering businesses the potential for up to 40 percent optimization in cloud spending. While specific comparisons to other services were not disclosed, Airtel highlighted the platform’s scalability and cost-effectiveness, along with the absence of vendor lock-ins. These features are expected to attract a wide range of Indian businesses looking to optimize their cloud operations.

AI-Powered Software Launch

In addition to the cloud platform, Xtelify has introduced an AI-powered software solution that complements Airtel Cloud. This modular, telecom-focused Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) offering integrates AI and automation to enhance operational efficiency. The software includes a converged data engine capable of aggregating data from various telecom systems, providing insights into churn prediction, network optimization, and average revenue per user (ARPU) prediction. Furthermore, it combines a workforce platform for task management with an experience platform focused on customer lifecycle management, creating a unified software solution for telecom operators.

Global Partnerships

Airtel has also announced that Xtelify has secured three significant global partnerships to support the newly launched platform. These partnerships include collaborations with Singapore-based Singtel, Philippines-based Globe Telecom, and Airtel Africa, which is fully owned and operated by Bharti Airtel. These alliances are expected to enhance the reach and capabilities of Airtel Cloud, positioning it as a competitive player in the global telecom cloud services market.
