World Food India 2025 Concludes India’s Role in Global Agri-Food Value Chains Enhanced

The four-day World Food India 2025 event concluded today at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, marking a significant milestone for India’s food processing industry. Inaugurated by the Prime Minister of India, the event attracted global leaders, policymakers, and industry experts to discuss the future of food and agriculture. The Prime Minister highlighted India’s agricultural diversity and the government’s initiatives aimed at boosting the sector, including substantial investments and support for grassroots entrepreneurs.
Investment Commitments and Collaborations
During the summit, World Food India 2025 facilitated the signing of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) worth over โน1,02,000 crore, representing one of the largest investment commitments in the Indian food processing sector to date. The Ministry of Food Processing Industries played a crucial role in fostering collaborations with leading academic and research institutions, such as NIFTEM-T and NIFTEM-K. These partnerships aim to support technology transfer and advancements in areas like food fortification, nutraceuticals, and start-up incubation, thereby enhancing the sector’s innovation capabilities.
CEO Roundtable and Sustainable Practices
A notable highlight of the event was the CEO Roundtable, co-chaired by Union Ministers Shri Nitin Gadkari and Shri Chirag Paswan. This gathering saw participation from over 100 CEOs representing major Indian and multinational companies. Discussions centered on sustainable investments, biodegradable packaging, and waste valorization, as well as the potential of the blue economy. The roundtable also addressed necessary reforms in logistics and transport to reduce costs and improve competitiveness within the food processing industry.
International Partnerships and Technical Sessions
World Food India 2025 also reinforced India’s international partnerships through government-to-government meetings with delegations from various countries, including Russia, Sri Lanka, and Morocco. These discussions aimed to explore deeper cooperation in agriculture and food processing, further establishing India as a trusted partner in global agri-food value chains. The technical agenda featured over forty sessions led by partner states, ministries, and industry associations, covering diverse topics such as pet food, plant-based foods, and food safety strategies.
Record Participation and Future Prospects
The event saw remarkable participation, with more than 10,500 B2B meetings, 261 G2G meetings, and over 18,000 reverse buyer-seller meetings conducted over the four days. The cumulative footfall exceeded 95,000, showcasing the event’s scale and the interest it generated. Parallel to World Food India, the 24th India International Seafood Show was also inaugurated, focusing on enhancing India’s seafood exports. As World Food India 2025 concluded, it solidified India’s position as a global hub for food processing and innovation, laying a strong foundation for future growth and collaboration in the sector.
