Welcome To The Jungle Delivers a Surprise with Akshay Kumar’s Post-Intermission Sequence!
Thanks to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, audiences have grown accustomed to staying in their seats during end credits, eagerly awaiting post-credit scenes. This trend has made its way into Hindi cinema, with filmmakers experimenting with similar concepts. The recently released film, Welcome To The Jungle, takes this idea a step further by introducing a unique sequence right after the intermission slate.
Akshay Kumar’s Hilarious Intermission Surprise
In Welcome To The Jungle, the word “Intermission” appears on screen, followed by a light-hearted moment featuring Akshay Kumar. Holding popcorn, he addresses the audience directly, humorously explaining that a portion of the film was shot without a clear placement. “We didn’t know where exactly to place it. Hence, we decided to screen it after the interval slate!” he says. This amusing introduction sets the stage for the song “Kyun,” which features both Akshay Kumar and Disha Patani.
The film’s innovative approach has resonated well with audiences. A trade source shared with Bollywood Hungama, “It’s an experiment which seems to have worked. The paid previews of the film took place yesterday, June 25, from 7:30 pm onwards, and the response to this initiative has been positive. It led to a lot of laughter.” Many viewers who initially got up to grab snacks or use the restroom quickly returned to their seats upon hearing Kumar’s message, eager to enjoy the visuals of the song.
A Unique Cinematic Experience
To enhance this experience, it appears that cinemas were instructed by the distributors not to turn on the lights during the intermission slate and while “Kyun” plays. This decision helped maintain the surprise element, allowing audiences to engage with the sequence as intended by the filmmakers. The trade source noted, “As a result, the surprise was preserved and audiences got to experience the sequence the way the makers intended.”
Welcome To The Jungle boasts an impressive ensemble cast, including Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Jacqueline Fernandez, Arshad Warsi, Jackie Shroff, Paresh Rawal, Raveena Tandon, Lara Dutta, and many more. The film also features notable appearances from actors associated with the iconic Mahabharat series, adding another layer of intrigue for viewers.
