WAVES Creators’ Corner Launched at AI Impact Summit 2026
On the second day of the India AI Impact Summit 2026, Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, officially inaugurated the WAVES Creators’ Corner. This innovative pavilion serves as a hands-on workspace focused on showcasing the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the Animation, VFX, Gaming, Comics, and Extended Reality (AVGC-XR) sectors.
During the inauguration, Minister Vaishnaw emphasized that the WAVES Creators’ Corner is a key part of the Ministry’s ongoing initiatives, which include WaveX, Waves Bazaar, and the Create in India Challenges. The pavilion is not only a technological showcase but is also a platform for budding entrepreneurs and established global players to interact and exchange ideas.
Support for Startups and Innovative Technologies
The pavilion features 51 AVGC-XR startups backed by WaveX, presenting their AI-driven solutions and immersive technologies. Minister Vaishnaw engaged with several entrepreneurs, including notable winners of initiatives like the Bhasha Setu and Kalaa Setu challenges.
Fireside Chat Highlights AI’s Impact
Shri Vaishnaw also took part in an insightful fireside chat with Shradha Sharma from YourStory, discussing the transformative effects of AI on society. He pointed out how emerging technologies are creating opportunities for talent in rural India, enabling them to build world-class startups.
Showcasing Cutting-Edge Innovations
The WAVES Creators’ Corner provides a glimpse into the future of media technology with its array of leading innovations. Highlights include real-time game development, a prompt-to-cinema live studio, and an Agentic AI-powered newsroom that facilitates automated editorial workflows. Other notable features are Sarvam’s real-time voice cloning technology, the Indus Chat App for multilingual communication, and AI film screenings curated by the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) alongside Sony Research India’s groundbreaking face and voice re-aging technology.
Building Capacity for Future Challenges
In his interactions, Minister Vaishnaw recognized the efforts of the International Institute of Creative Technology (IICT) in integrating AI into creative educational programs. This initiative aims to prepare students for the evolving demands of the industry. The WAVES Creators’ Corner will remain active throughout the summit, hosting dialogues among experts, filmmaker masterclasses, and technical sessions led by global industry leaders.
