Prime Video has recently unveiled the trailer for its upcoming Hindi Original series, The Revolutionaries. This highly anticipated show is set against a rich period backdrop and centers on four young revolutionaries who played pivotal roles in India’s fight for freedom. Directed by Nikkhil Advani, the series draws inspiration from Sanjeev Sanyal’s book, Revolutionaries: The Other Story Of How India Won Its Freedom. The series promises to offer a fresh perspective on a significant chapter in Indian history.
Star-Studded Cast and Characters
The Revolutionaries features a talented ensemble cast, including Bhuvan Bam, Rohit Saraf, Pratibha Ranta, and Gurfateh Pirzada in lead roles. They are joined by Jason Shah, Paoli Dam, and Tota Roy Chowdhury in key supporting roles. The series is set to premiere on Prime Video on September 11, 2026.
The trailer introduces viewers to the main characters: Bhuvan Bam as Rash Behari Bose, Rohit Saraf as Sachindra Nath Sanyal, Pratibha Ranta as Pratibha Lahiri, and Gurfateh Pirzada as Bagha Jatin. Insights from the Cast
Bhuvan Bam expressed his enthusiasm for the project, noting its exploration of a lesser-known aspect of India’s freedom struggle. He stated, “What excited me about The Revolutionaries was that it isn’t a conventional freedom-fighter drama. It’s a story about four young heroes fighting for what they believe in, while navigating conflicts and a brotherhood forged in blood.” Bam described his character, Rash Behari Bose, as a master of disguise who infiltrated British camps, emphasizing the limited archival material available on Bose that allowed him to approach the character instinctively.
Rohit Saraf shared his experience portraying Sachindra Nath Sanyal, revealing that the role pushed him into unfamiliar territory. He appreciated the contrast between Sanyal’s innocence and his strong political conviction. “While it is an honor to portray a real-life hero from India’s fight for freedom, what stayed with me was his childlike innocence paired with an unshakeable conviction,” Saraf remarked. He also mentioned that preparing for the role involved intensive training.
Pratibha Ranta, who plays Pratibha Lahiri, highlighted the character’s struggle for voice in a male-dominated world. “Pratibha Lahiri is a young, progressive woman fighting to be heard in a world shaped by men, and that struggle still feels relevant today,” she noted. Ranta emphasized the team’s intention to keep the character grounded rather than larger than life.
A Fresh Take on History
Gurfateh Pirzada portrays Bagha Jatin, another key revolutionary in the series. He expressed that the project introduced him to a lesser-known chapter of India’s history. “What stayed with me about Bagha Jatin was his quiet strength, controlled aggression, and the weight behind every word he spoke,” Pirzada shared. He also mentioned that director Nikkhil Advani aimed for a young, fast-paced, and action-driven tone, setting the series apart from traditional period dramas.
The Revolutionaries is created and directed by Nikkhil Advani and produced by Monisha Advani and Madhu Bhojwani under Emmay Entertainment. The writing team includes Sanyuktha Chawla Shaikh, Akshita Wadhwana, Shobhit Narang, and Rutvi Mehta. The series will be available in Hindi, with dubs in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Bengali, along with English and other international subtitles.
