Vivo has officially launched its latest foldable smartphone, the Vivo X Fold 5, in China. This innovative device features a book-style design with a 6.83-inch cover display and an expansive 8.03-inch inner flexible panel. Both displays boast impressive 4,500 nits of local peak brightness, making them stand out in various lighting conditions. The Vivo X Fold 5 is designed to be lighter and slimmer than its predecessor, the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro, and comes equipped with advanced camera technology and robust water and dust resistance ratings.

Vivo X Fold 5 Price and Availability

The Vivo X Fold 5 is available in multiple configurations, with prices starting at CNY 6,999 (approximately Rs. 83,800) for the 12GB + 256GB model. The 12GB + 512GB variant is priced at CNY 7,999 (around Rs. 96,000). For those seeking higher specifications, the 16GB + 512GB and 16GB + 1TB options are available for CNY 8,499 (about Rs. 102,000) and CNY 9,499 (approximately Rs. 114,000), respectively. Customers can choose from three color options: Baibai (green), Quingsong (white), and Titanium (black). The device will be accessible through Vivo’s official e-store and select e-commerce platforms starting July 2.

Specifications and Features of Vivo X Fold 5

The Vivo X Fold 5 is equipped with an 8.03-inch 8T LTPO main flexible inner display and a 6.83-inch 8T LTPO outer screen. Both displays support a 120Hz refresh rate and feature a local peak brightness of 4,500 nits. They also include high-frequency PWM dimming, TรœV Rheinland global eye protection 3.0, and Zeiss Master color certifications. The smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, which also powered its predecessor, the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro. It offers configurations with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage, running on Android 15-based OriginOS 5.

In terms of photography, the Vivo X Fold 5 features a triple rear camera setup with Zeiss T lens coating. The primary camera is a 50-megapixel sensor, complemented by a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera that supports 3x optical zoom. The device also includes telephoto macro capabilities. For selfies and video calls, both the inner and outer displays are equipped with 20-megapixel front-facing cameras.

The Vivo X Fold 5 is designed for durability, featuring a 6,000mAh battery that supports 80W wired and 40W wireless charging. It meets IP5X standards for dust resistance and IPX8+IPX9+ ratings for water resistance, ensuring it can withstand various environmental conditions. The device is functional even in temperatures as low as minus 20 degrees Celsius. For security, it includes a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. Weighing in at 217 grams, the foldable smartphone measures approximately 9.2mm thick when folded and 4.3mm when unfolded.

Additionally, Vivo has confirmed that the X Fold 5 is compatible with Apple’s ecosystem, allowing users to connect seamlessly with devices such as iPhones, AirPods, MacBooks, Apple Watches, and iCloud services. This feature enhances the user experience by providing easy access to data across different platforms.
