A delegation from the Brazilian Navy led by Admiral José Augusto Vieira da Cunha de Menezes, Chief of the General Staff, visited New Delhi and met with VA Adm Sanjay J Singh, Deputy Chief of the Naval Staff, on 5 September. The Brazilian delegation also held talks with VA Adm Sandeep Naithani, Chief of Equipment on areas of mutual cooperation, with a focus on the Indian Navy’s indigenisation efforts to achieve self-sufficiency in submarine maintenance.
