Today, Vice-President Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar gave a strong message about the importance of nationalism while inaugurating the new Sainik School in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. He said that compromising on nationalism is like betraying the country. โ€œIf anyone tries to harm the unity of our nation, we should not allow it,โ€ he firmly stated. He added that duty towards the nation should always come before personal or political interests. Failing to do so, he warned, would hurt Indiaโ€™s ancient values, which have been alive for thousands of years.

During his speech, Shri Dhankhar remembered his own days at Sainik School Chittorgarh. He shared how this school played a huge role in shaping his life. โ€œAlthough I was born in Kithana village, my real life began at Sainik School Chittorgarh,โ€ he said, showing how much his school meant to him.

The Vice-President also spoke about the power of education. He said that education can change lives and help people take control of their futures. He believes that education can reduce inequalities in society and end unfair practices. Shri Dhankhar was happy that another Sainik School was opening because he knows how much it can help young people become strong and successful.

Shri Dhankhar also talked about Indiaโ€™s progress on the world stage. He gave credit to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for leading the country in the right direction. โ€œIndia today is not the same as it was ten years ago,โ€ he said. He pointed out the removal of Article 370, which was once thought to be permanent but has been abolished in this decade. โ€œThis is the new India,โ€ he added proudly.

He expressed his excitement for the new Sainik School in Gorakhpur, saying that it would help shape future generations and become a model for other states and the country. The Vice-President was confident that the school would set high standards for education across India.

During the event, Shri Dhankhar also inaugurated a new shooting range at the school, which will provide students with opportunities to develop skills in shooting. The Vice-President planted saplings in memory of his late mother, Smt. Kesari Devi, while his wife, Dr. Sudesh Dhankhar, planted a sapling in honor of her mother, Smt. Bhagwati Devi. This was a touching tribute during the event.

In his speech to the cadets, the Vice-President encouraged them to overcome fear and shared the example of Indiaโ€™s successful Chandrayaan-3 mission. He explained how lessons from the failure of Chandrayaan-2 helped build the success of the next mission. โ€œFailure is the foundation of success,โ€ he reminded the students.

The Vice-President praised Uttar Pradesh for its progress in good governance and upholding the rule of law. He said that the stateโ€™s contribution to the nationโ€™s development is an important part of building a stronger India.

Many important people attended the event, including Shri Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Kamlesh Paswan, Minister of State for Rural Development, Shri Ravi Kishan Shukla, Member of Parliament, and Smt. Gulab Devi, Minister of State for Secondary Education in Uttar Pradesh.
