On September 3, 2024, Shri Manoj Yadava, Director General of the Railway Protection Force (RPF), along with a 28-member delegation, visited the Hot Spring Memorial in Ladakh to honor police martyrs. This visit was to show solidarity with the brave soldiers of ITBP, ITBF, and the Indian Army, who protect the Line of Actual Control (LAC) under harsh conditions.

Shri Yadava led a delegation of police officers from different State Police and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs). Shri N. Prakash Reddy, Deputy Inspector General of Telangana Police, served as the deputy leader, and Shri Raja Banthia, Deputy Commissioner of Police from Delhi Police, was also part of the group.

The Hot Spring Memorial is a sacred place for Indian Police, where every year, tributes are paid to honor the 10 CRPF officers who died defending the nation on October 21, 1959. The tradition of remembrance began in 1960 and continues today. The memorial is located in the difficult terrain near the LAC in Eastern Ladakh, at an altitude of 15,400 feet.

During the visit, the delegation had the chance to meet Mr. Sonam Dorjey, an 86-year-old veteran, and one of the patrol members who bravely fought against Chinese troops in the 1959 conflict. He was captured during the incident, and his story of courage continues to inspire generations.

This yearโ€™s visit was special as Shri Manoj Yadava became the first Director General of the RPF to lead this important event. His participation, along with officers from different forces, demonstrated the unity and strength shared by the Indian Police.

Shri Yadava dedicated the pilgrimage to the 1,011 RPF personnel who have sacrificed their lives in the line of duty since the RPF was founded in 1958. He reaffirmed RPFโ€™s commitment to the bravery and duty shown by the heroes of 1959, whose memories remain an important part of police history.

This visit serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made by the police to protect the nation and highlights the spirit of bravery, dedication, and teamwork within the Indian Police Forces.
