Vedang Raina Credits ‘Main Vaapas Aaunga’ for Transforming His Career, Expresses Gratitude to Imtiaz Ali

Actor Vedang Raina has opened up about his emotional journey in the film industry, particularly reflecting on the impact of his latest release, Main Vaapas Aaunga. Taking to social media, he expressed heartfelt gratitude towards director Imtiaz Ali, his co-stars, and the audiences who have supported the film since its debut. Along with a collection of behind-the-scenes photographs from the film’s set, Vedang shared the pivotal moment when he realized that acting was his true calling.

A Life-Changing Decision

In his post, Vedang recounted a significant moment from his past. “I came home one day after an audition (I was 19) and told my parents that acting is what makes me feel the most alive. I didn’t expect to say that and I was as surprised as they were,” he wrote. This revelation marked the beginning of his journey in the entertainment industry, which has now spanned nearly two-and-a-half years. He expressed confidence that his instincts about pursuing acting were indeed correct.

Reflecting on the significance of Main Vaapas Aaunga, Vedang described the film as a turning point in his career. “Maybe it’s too early to say but Main Vaapas Aaunga is a film that’s changed everything for me. What I’ve learned, how I’ve grown as an artist and more importantly as a human being is not something I can quantify with an Instagram caption,” he shared.

Gratitude for Collaborations

Vedang also took a moment to thank filmmaker Imtiaz Ali for trusting him with the role of Keenu. He expressed appreciation for the opportunity to work alongside some of the most respected artists in the industry. “@imtiazaliofficial thank you for taking me on this journey and letting me be your Keenu. Thanks for letting me collaborate with artists I’ve always looked up to and gotten to learn so much from @naseeruddin49 @diljitdosanjh @arrahman @irshadkamilofficial @sharvari,” he wrote.

Describing the film as “special,” “relevant,” and “pure,” Vedang conveyed his gratitude for being part of such a project and for the positive response it has received from audiences. “I’m as passionate as ever and I’m driven to keep working and perfecting. I love what I do. I feel alive. Thank you for showering us with so much love. Thank you for your blessings,” he added.

Audience Reactions and Competition

The post quickly garnered reactions from fans and fellow cast members. Co-star Sharvari commented with warmth, saying, “Keenu forever 🤍✨ and sooooooo proud of you!”

Directed by Imtiaz Ali, Main Vaapas Aaunga features an ensemble cast that includes Diljit Dosanjh, Naseeruddin Shah, Sharvari, and Vedang Raina. The film was released in cinemas alongside Vikram Bhatt’s Haunted: Echoes of the Past 3D and Kangana Ranaut’s Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata. It also faced competition from the Hollywood release Obsession, which has been performing strongly at the box office.
