United Nation Day
United Nations Day is observed annually on 24 October, On the establishment of the United Nations in 1945. The primary goal of the United Nations is to maintain world peace and security. The UN had 51 members at the time of its establishment. It is currently made up of 193 Member States. Each of the 193 Member States of the United Nations is a member of the General Assembly.
HISTORY
The United Nation was first observed on 24 October 1945. The name United Nation was given by the president of United States Franklin D. Roosevelt and was first used in the Declaration of the United Nations on January 1, 1942, during the Second World War.
In 1971, the United Nations General Assembly declaring the united nation day as an international observance or international holiday.
OBSERVANCE
U.N. Day has traditionally been marked throughout the world with meetings, discussions and exhibits about the achievements and goals of the organization.
Several international schools in India and other countries also celebrates the United Nation Day, Celebrations often include a show of cultural performances in the evening and a food fair, where food is available from all over the world.
There are various organs of united nation like, the General Assembly, the Security Council, the Economic and Social Council, the Trusteeship Council, the International Court of Justice and the UN Secretariat.
CELEBRATION
On 24 October 2021, Expo will celebrate United Nations Day as an Honor Day with a variety of official events. This year the official ceremony of U.N.Day is held at the Al Wasl Dome and an exciting cultural performance by the Emirates Youth Symphony Orchestra, a unique group of young musicians in the UAE and the Arab world at large, dedicated to cultivating the musical talent of young people, by creating a cultural and artistic environment for young talents for audiences of all ages. The ceremony is starting at 10:15 am GST, and it will take place on the Stage of Nations in Al Wasl Dome, with the presence of high-level government officials from the United Arab Emirates.
