Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh says, Rule 3(1) of All India Services (Death-cum-Retirement Benefits) Rules, 1958 regarding “Future good Conduct” of the pensioners has not been amended

Union Minister of State (independently) Science and Technology; MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Complaints, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space Dr Jitendra Singh Today said the Rule 3(1) of All India Services (Death-cum-Retirement Benefits) Rules, 1958 regarding the “Future good conduct” of retirees has not been changed.

In a written response to a question in the Rajya Sabha, Dr. Jitendra Singh reiterated that the condition of “good future conduct” is present in the Regulation since 08.18.1958. He said: “The future good behavior of retirees is an implicit condition of any pension grant and its continuation.”

The Minister also clarified that the amendment of 06th July 2023 against members of All India Services, who have worked in any intelligence or security organization in order to regulate the release of any material/sensitive information after their retirement which may affect the sovereignty and integrity of India, the security, the strategic, scientific or economic interests of the State or the relationship with a foreign State.

A similar provision is also available in the Civil Service (Pensions) Regulations, 2021 for those central government officials who have worked in any organization related to intelligence or security.
