Union Minister Boosts BSNL’s Service Delivery in Key Meeting
In a significant move to enhance the operations of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), Union Minister of Communications, Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, led a vital interactive session today with Junior Telecom Officers (JTOs) and Sub-Divisional Engineers (SDEs) from BSNL circles nationwide. The meeting, held at Sanchar Bhawan, aimed to fortify BSNL’s service delivery capabilities and tackle operational challenges faced on the ground.
The session focused on gathering innovative insights and suggestions from frontline officers, which are crucial for BSNL’s monitoring and implementation strategies. Minister Scindia set an ambitious goal of achieving Six Sigma standards in service delivery, highlighting that the reliability of BSNL’s infrastructure is essential for ensuring customer satisfaction and enhancing the organization’s competitive edge within the telecom sector.
During the discussion, the Minister directed that actionable recommendations raised during the interaction should be evaluated and integrated into BSNL’s monitoring systems with timely follow-ups. He stressed the importance of establishing regular communication channels, proposing that these interactive engagements with field officers be institutionalized on a quarterly basis. This initiative aims to foster ongoing dialogue and improve coordination between field units and policy leaders.
Focusing on Right of Way and Professional Standards
Minister Scindia also placed a strong emphasis on expediting processes related to Right of Way (RoW). He instructed that information regarding RoW policies be effectively communicated to ground-level staff to enhance collaboration with local authorities and ensure quicker project execution. This will play a vital role in minimizing delays and facilitating smoother operations in the field.
In encouraging the officers, the Minister outlined three key guiding principles: service, accountability, and national commitment, which reflect the essence of the public service ethos. He reiterated that the transformation of BSNL hinges on empowering its workforce at all levels and aligning operational practices with strategic goals.
