Union Ayush Minister Shri Prataprao Jadhav Highlights ‘Desh ka Swasthya Parikshan’ as a Step Towards Preventive Health

The Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS) has announced the launch of the ‘Desh Ka Swasthya Parikshan’ campaign, which aims to enhance public awareness about health and promote preventive measures through Ayurveda. This initiative was unveiled during the 10th Ayurveda Day event in Goa, attended by prominent figures including the Governor of Goa and various Union Ministers. The campaign seeks to empower citizens to adopt Ayurveda-based lifestyle practices for improved long-term well-being.
Campaign Objectives and Implementation
The ‘Desh Ka Swasthya Parikshan’ campaign is designed to educate individuals about their health and encourage preventive health measures. It aims to inspire the adoption of Ayurveda-based diets and lifestyle practices. The campaign will be implemented through a network of CCRAS institutions, Ayurveda teaching colleges, partner institutes under the National Ayush Mission, and state-level Ayurveda centers across India. This extensive reach is expected to engage a wide audience, including students, healthcare professionals, and the general public.
Significance of the Initiative
Union Minister of State for Ayush, Shri Prataprao Jadhav, emphasized the importance of the campaign, describing it as a national awakening towards preventive health. He stated that the initiative encourages citizens to assess their health status, laying the groundwork for a healthier nation. By integrating Ayurveda’s principles into everyday life, the campaign aims to make health management more accessible and scientifically grounded for the public.
Innovative Health Assessment Tool
The CCRAS Swasthya Assessment Scale is a key component of the campaign, representing a significant step in merging Ayurveda with structured health evaluations. According to Prof. Rabinarayan Acharya, Director General of CCRAS, this tool will provide valuable insights into public health trends while motivating individuals to adopt preventive lifestyle measures. The scale is based on classical Ayurvedic principles and allows Ayurvedic practitioners to assess various health parameters through a structured questionnaire, helping participants understand their health better.
A Movement for Holistic Well-Being
More than just a campaign, ‘Desh Ka Swasthya Parikshan’ is envisioned as a movement to transform health perceptions through Ayurveda. It reaffirms India’s commitment to holistic well-being for all citizens. The initiative aims to foster a culture of health awareness and preventive care, encouraging individuals to embrace Ayurveda’s timeless wisdom in their daily lives. With broad participation anticipated, the campaign is set to become one of the largest preventive health awareness initiatives in the country, promoting a healthier future for all.
