Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to Visit Odisha on November 10
Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, is set to visit Odisha on November 10, 2025, to engage in significant initiatives aimed at boosting farmers’ income and promoting sustainable agricultural practices. His itinerary includes attending the ‘Mandia Dibasa (Millet Day)’ programme, where he will emphasize the government’s efforts to enhance millet production and consumption. Shri Chouhan’s visit will commence with his arrival in Bhubaneswar by 11:00 a.m. He will serve as the Chief Guest at the ‘Mandia Dibasa’ programme held at the Convention Centre in Lok Seva Bhawan. This event aims to spotlight the Central Government’s initiatives to promote millets, also known as Shri Anna or coarse grains, across Odisha and the nation. During his address, the Minister will discuss the importance of millets in enhancing farmers’ income and bolstering the rural economy. The celebration of ‘Mandia Dibasa’ aligns with the government’s declaration of 2023 as the International Year of Millets, reinforcing Odisha’s leadership in millet promotion.
Field Visits and Farmer Interactions
Following the inaugural session, Shri Chouhan will head to the Sadar region of Cuttack district for field visits and direct interactions with local farmers. The agenda will focus on enhancing the implementation of key national agricultural initiatives, including the PM Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana, the Self-Reliance in Pulses Mission, and the National Mission on Natural Farming.
