UIDAI and NFSU Forge New Alliance for Cybersecurity and Research
The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has embarked on a groundbreaking partnership with the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) to enhance cybersecurity, digital forensics, and advanced technology research. This five-year collaboration aims to fortify UIDAI’s digital infrastructure, which is vital to India’s digital identity system.
The memorandum of understanding (MoU) was formally signed by Shri Vivek Chandra Verma, CEO of UIDAI, and Prof (Dr.) S.O. Junare, Director of the Gujarat Campus at NFSU. The signing ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including Shri Abhishek Kumar Singh, Deputy Director General of UIDAI, along with senior officials from both institutions.
Strategic Focus Areas
This partnership hinges on six strategic pillars that will drive their collaborative efforts. These include academic and professional development, enhancing information security and system integrity, and creating a robust forensic infrastructure alongside lab excellence.
Additionally, the two organizations will work together to provide technical support for cybersecurity initiatives. Their research will cover emerging and highly relevant fields such as artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain technologies, deepfake detection, and cryptographic techniques.
Another important aspect of the MoU is the emphasis on strategic placement and outreach, which aims to create pathways for employment opportunities for NFSU students.
