A loud bell rings at dawn. Everyone rushes to the house temple. Sachin sits before the Ganapati idol, lighting a camphor flame. The family stares in silence as he pours milk over the statue. Let him eat in peace.” Tejas rolls his eyes. “Trying” isn’t building walls,” he mutters.

Tejas pockets his phone, buzzing with a call. “A contractor wants custom furniture! Big money!” he grins. Roshni claps. “My brother’s a genius!” Meanwhile, Sachin paces the yard, clutching his hair. “No job, no savings… how do I keep my promise?” Sayali tugs his sleeve. “I’ll sell my gold. Mama has it stored.” Sachin grabs her shoulders. “Never! That’s your safety.” Sayali whispers, “Trust me,” but he walks away. Later, Sayali finds Renuka folding clothes. “Please, give back my jewelry,” she pleads. Renuka folds a saree sharply. “You’ll pawn it for Sachin’s mess?” Sayali clenches her fists. “I want to help him!” Renuka sighs, handing over a velvet box. “Do what you want. But don’t cry later.” Outside, Tejas yells into his phone, “Yes, sir! We’ll deliver next week!” He pumps his fist. “This contract will double our profits!” Roshni hugs him. “Mama will finally praise us!”
Scene 4: Bricks, Burdens, and Belief
Sachin whistles, waving Sayali outside. “Surprise!” he beams, pointing at a pile of red bricks. Sayali’s eyes widen. “This is…?” Sachin kicks a brick. “Our room’s first stone! I’ll stack them daily.” Sayali’s voice cracks. “You’ll work this hard?” He nods. “No more shame.” She hugs his arm, cheek against his shoulder. Inside, Paresh mutters to Renuka, “How will they afford cement?” Renuka glares. “Let them fail. They’ll learn.” But at the window, Roshni sighs. “Maybe Sachin’s trying.” Tejas snorts. “Or faking.” As night falls, Sayali polishes her bangles, staring at the brick pile. Sachin lies awake, counting stars. Somewhere, a lamp flickers out.
