The Vice-President of India Completes Two-Day Visit to Andhra Pradesh

The Vice-President of India, Shri CP Radhakrishnan, recently completed a two-day visit to Andhra Pradesh on September 24 and 25, 2025. This marked his first official trip to a state since taking office. During his visit, he participated in various cultural and spiritual events in Vijayawada and Tirumala, emphasizing the importance of tradition and community well-being.
Engagements in Vijayawada
Shri CP Radhakrishnan began his visit on September 24 with a significant darshan at the Kanak Durga Temple in Vijayawada. There, he offered prayers for the prosperity and well-being of the nation. Following this spiritual engagement, he attended the Vijayawada Utsav 2025 at Punnamy Ghat as the Chief Guest. In his address, the Vice-President highlighted the importance of Navratri, celebrating feminine divinity and women’s empowerment. He commended Andhra Pradesh for its rich cultural heritage and acknowledged the state’s advancements in agriculture, information technology, and inclusive development. The Vice-President expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality extended by the people of Vijayawada, reinforcing the bond between the government and the community.
Visit to Tirumala Temple
On September 25, Shri CP Radhakrishnan visited the revered Tirumala Temple, where he had darshan of Lord Venkateswara. He prayed for the well-being of all citizens during this sacred visit. The Vice-President also inaugurated the newly constructed Pilgrim Amenities Centre (PAC) named โVenkatadri Nilayamโ at Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD). This event was attended by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Shri N. Chandrababu Naidu, along with other ministers and dignitaries. The inauguration of this facility underscores the government’s commitment to enhancing the pilgrimage experience for devotees.
Features of Venkatadri Nilayam
The โVenkatadri Nilayamโ is a modern, five-storied facility designed to accommodate thousands of devotees visiting the shrine daily. Each floor consists of six spacious halls, with the inaugurated level featuring four dormitories and two Bal Mundan halls. The building includes 600 lockers, ensuring the safe storage of devotees’ belongings, with 150 lockers available in each dormitory. To facilitate ease of movement, the complex is equipped with ten lifts and six staircases. Additionally, the basement houses a Prashadam Hall with a seating capacity for approximately 500 devotees, along with a medical center that includes a doctor, pharmacy, and four beds to cater to basic healthcare needs. This facility represents a significant advancement in TTDโs efforts to combine spiritual sanctity with modern infrastructure.
Final Prayers at Padmavathi Temple
Before concluding his visit, the Vice-President also paid homage at the Padmavathi Temple in Tiruchanoor. There, he offered prayers to Goddess Padmavathi, seeking blessings for the peace and prosperity of the nation. This visit not only highlights the Vice-President’s commitment to spiritual values but also reflects the importance of cultural heritage in fostering national unity and well-being.
