Tecno Camon 40 Series Promises Major Updates

Tecno has officially launched its Camon 40 series smartphones at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025 in Barcelona. The lineup includes the Camon 40, 40 Pro, Pro 5G, and Premier 5G models, all featuring a unique One-Tap Button and running on Android 15 with HiOS 15. In an exciting announcement, Tecno confirmed that these devices will receive OS updates up to Android 18 and five years of security patches.

In a recent post on X, Tecno revealed that the Camon 40 series will benefit from three years of Android OS upgrades, extending to Android 18. Currently, all four models in the series come pre-installed with Android 15, enhanced by the HiOS 15 skin. Additionally, Tecno assured users that they will receive five years of over-the-air (OTA) security updates, ensuring long-term device security and performance improvements.

The Tecno Camon 40 series boasts a range of innovative features designed to enhance user experience. Each device is equipped with a One-Tap Button, providing quick access to the personal assistant Ella and enabling the FlashSnap mode. The smartphones also incorporate advanced AI functionalities, including Google’s Circle to Search, AI Eraser 2.0, AIGC Portrait 2.0, and AI Translate, among others. The Camon 40 and Camon 40 Pro models feature a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, while the Pro 5G and Premier 5G variants support an impressive 144Hz refresh rate. The Premier model is slightly smaller, with a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen. For photography enthusiasts, the standard and Pro variants come with a 50-megapixel primary rear camera and an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens. The Pro models also include a 50-megapixel front camera, while the Premier 5G offers three 50-megapixel rear sensors, including telephoto and ultrawide options, along with a 50-megapixel selfie camera.
Performance and Durability of Tecno Camon 40 Series
The Tecno Camon 40 series is designed for durability and performance. The base Camon 40 and Pro 4G versions are powered by MediaTek Helio G100 Ultimate SoCs, while the Pro 5G and Premier 5G models utilize the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Ultimate and Dimensity 8350 Ultimate chipsets, respectively. Battery life is robust, with the standard and Pro models featuring a 5,200mAh battery that supports 45W wired fast charging. The Premier model is equipped with a slightly smaller 5,100mAh battery but offers faster 70W charging capabilities.
In terms of durability, the Camon 40 is rated IP66 for dust and water resistance, while the Pro and Premier variants boast even higher ratings of IP68 and IP69. This makes the Camon 40 series not only powerful but also resilient, catering to users who require both performance and reliability in their smartphones.
