Techie Loses Rs 1.46 Lakh in Fake RCB vs CSK IPL Ticket Scam

The excitement surrounding the Indian Premier League (IPL) has led to a surge in ticket demand, with fans eager to witness their favorite teams compete. However, this fervor has also opened the door to scams, as evidenced by a recent incident where a 25-year-old techie was duped out of ₹1.46 lakh while trying to purchase tickets for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) versus Chennai Super Kings (CSK) match. The victim fell prey to a fraudster posing as a ticket seller on Instagram, who promised tickets and food coupons but ultimately led to significant financial loss.

Ticket Scam Highlights

The techie, residing in B Narayanapura, reported the incident to the Mahadevapura Police after being misled by an individual claiming to be Sumit Biswal, a senior supervisor at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium ticket counter. The scam began when the fraudster contacted the victim through an Instagram post, offering to arrange IPL tickets. Trusting the scammer, the techie was instructed to meet near stadium gate number 10, where he was promised ticket delivery. To gain the victim’s confidence, the fraudster even sent an email confirmation.

Initially, the techie agreed to buy two tickets for ₹3,700 each. However, the scam escalated as Biswal requested additional payments under various pretenses, including refundable security deposits and food coupons. The victim, believing he was making a legitimate purchase, transferred money multiple times, even using his mother’s bank account after exhausting his own funds. In total, he ended up losing around ₹1.46 lakh.

RCB’s Dominant Performance

In a thrilling IPL 2026 encounter, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) secured a commanding 43-run victory over the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s impressive bowling performance, taking 3 wickets for 41 runs, played a crucial role in RCB’s triumph. The match showcased a powerful batting display from RCB, with Tim David, Rajat Patidar, and Devdutt Padikkal leading the charge.

Tim David’s explosive innings of 70 not out off just 25 balls, combined with Patidar’s unbeaten 48 runs from 19 balls, provided the fireworks needed to propel RCB to a formidable total of 250 runs for 3 wickets. Padikkal’s fluent 50 off 29 balls set the stage for this record-breaking score, marking the highest total in IPL 2026.

CSK’s Struggles

In response, the Chennai Super Kings struggled to keep pace with the scoreboard pressure. Despite Sarfaraz Khan’s quickfire 50 off 24 balls and Prashant Veer’s 43 runs, CSK’s top order faltered, leading to their downfall. Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s disciplined bowling, which also saw him surpass the 200-wicket mark in IPL history, was instrumental in dismantling CSK’s batting lineup. Ultimately, CSK was bowled out for 207 runs in just 19.4 overs, highlighting their inability to cope with RCB’s aggressive performance.

This victory not only marked RCB’s second win of the season but also established a new milestone, as they achieved four consecutive wins over CSK for the first time in IPL history. The match underscored RCB’s growing dominance in the tournament and set the stage for an exciting season ahead.
