Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi said during his Independence Day speech at the Red Fort Government has allocated Rs 10 lakh crore as urea subsidy for farmers. He said “To give urea costing Rs 3,000 per bag globally cheaper than Rs. 300 per sack to farmers, the government has allocated Rs 10 lakh crore as a subsidy for urea.

The prime minister informed the nation from Red Fort that bags of urea sold at Rs. 3,000 in some global markets is given to farmers at as little as Rs. 300. “Bags of urea sold for Rs. 3,000 in some global markets, now the government supplies our farmers for Rs. 300, and hence the government is providing a subsidy of Rs. 10 crore lakh on urea for our farmers.
