Student Scientist Connect Program Event under the "One Week One Lab" Campaign CSIR-Central Glass and Ceramic Research Institute (CGCRI)

As part of the “One Week One Lab” campaign CSIR-Central Glass and Ceramic Research Institute (CGCRI), Calcutta conducted a school connection program on the 25thth August 2023. It was intended to promote scientific attitude among school students and encourage them to pursue research in different scientific fields. Dr SK Mishra, director of CSIR-CGCRI, welcomed the participants. The main host Dr KJ Sreeram, Director of CSIR-Central Skin Research Institute underlined CSIR’s role in nation-building activities, and Guest of Honor Dr Arun Bandyopadhyay, The director of CSIR – Indian Institute of Chemical Biology inspired students to pursue science for the best interest of the nation. This event was attended by295 students and 28 teachers from 7 schools participated. Participating schools included Kendriya Vidyalaya, Dumdum, St. Xaviers Institution, Laxmipat Singhania School, Silver Point School, Mukul Bose Memorial School, Jadavpur High School and The Summit School. Schools participating in this program enjoyed different scientific activities, including informative conferences, live interactive sessions, different demonstrations of CSIR-CGCRI products, scientific quizzes, virtual laboratory platforms and much more. Scientists working in different fields presented the various advanced technologies of the CGCRI.
