Smartphone Prices from Vivo, Realme, Samsung, and More Expected to Rise Post-Launch

Shoppers anticipating year-end discounts on smartphones may need to reconsider their strategies. In recent months, several smartphone manufacturers have quietly increased the prices of mid-range and budget models shortly after their launch. This trend, affecting brands like Vivo, iQOO, Realme, OPPO, Redmi, Samsung, and Motorola, has left consumers facing higher costs for devices released within the last six months.

Vivo Adjusts Prices Across T-Series Models

Vivo has been among the brands that swiftly revised prices following their launch. The company recently introduced several models, including the Vivo T4 Lite, T4x, T4, and T4R, targeting the under-Rs. 20,000 and under-Rs. 25,000 segments. Initially priced at Rs. 9,999, the Vivo T4 Lite now retails for Rs. 11,999. The prices of the T4x and T4 series have also increased by Rs. 1,000 to Rs. 2,000, depending on the variant. Additionally, Vivo raised the price of the Vivo Y400, which was aimed at budget-conscious consumers. This trend reflects a broader pattern of price adjustments across various smartphone brands, indicating a shift in the market landscape.

iQOO Raises Z-Series and Neo Prices

Following a similar trajectory, iQOO has adjusted the prices of its Z-series models. Devices such as the iQOO Z10x, Z10 Lite, Z10, and Z10R, which were initially priced to attract performance-focused users, now cost between Rs. 1,000 to Rs. 2,000 more than their launch prices. The iQOO Neo 10, positioned in the upper mid-range category, has experienced a more significant price hike of approximately Rs. 3,000. These adjustments highlight the challenges faced by manufacturers in maintaining competitive pricing while managing rising production costs.

Realme Hikes Select Mid-Range Offerings

Realme has also revised the prices of some of its mid-range devices. The Realme 15x and Realme 15T, which fall below the company’s primary number series, now have higher effective prices than when they were first launched. However, the Realme P4 and P4 Pro, introduced in August, continue to be available at their original prices. This selective price adjustment indicates that while some models are affected by rising costs, others remain stable, potentially to maintain market competitiveness.

OPPO Revises Prices

OPPO has made similar moves, adjusting prices across several of its product lines. Models such as the Reno 14 series, F31 Pro, F31, K13x, and K13 now carry higher price tags than before. Notably, OPPO did not increase the price of the F31 Pro+, which was launched alongside the F31 series. In the Reno 14 lineup, the company has discontinued the base storage variant, now offering higher storage models at prices previously reserved for more premium versions. Some models in the K13 Turbo lineup remain unchanged, suggesting a strategic approach to pricing amid fluctuating market conditions.

Redmi and Motorola Adjust Budget Segments

Redmi has also adjusted prices within its budget segment. The Redmi Pad 2 and Redmi 15 now sell at higher prices compared to their initial launch rates. Newer models, such as the Redmi 15C, have launched at a higher starting price than the Redmi 14C they replace. Market expectations indicate that upcoming Redmi Note models may also see increased entry pricing. Similarly, Motorola has made minor adjustments, with the Moto G67 Power, which debuted at Rs. 15,999, now priced at Rs. 16,999 on online platforms.
