Shri S. Krishnan Inaugurates “Cyber Bharat Setu” Workshop in Tripura Event Aims to Strengthen Cyber Resilience
The Directorate of Information Technology (DIT) in Tripura, in partnership with the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In), has launched a significant initiative aimed at enhancing the state’s cybersecurity capabilities. The two-day workshop, titled “Cyber Bharat Setu: Bridging States, Securing Bharat,” took place on November 11 and 12, 2025, at Pragna Bhavan in Agartala. This event is designed to bolster cyber awareness and readiness among various stakeholders in the state.
The primary goal of the workshop is to strengthen cyber resilience through a series of expert-led training sessions and hands-on drills. Participants engaged in simulated scenario-based exercises that are crucial for improving their response capabilities to cyber threats. The event was inaugurated by Shri S. Krishnan, Secretary of MeitY, in the presence of notable dignitaries, including Shri J. K. Sinha, Chief Secretary of Tripura, and Dr. Sanjay Bahl, Director General of CERT-In. The workshop attracted a diverse group of participants, including government secretaries, department heads, police officials, bank representatives, and students from various educational institutions.
Throughout the workshop, officials from CERT-In, including Senior Scientist Shri Ashutosh Bahuguna, delivered insightful sessions and conducted interactive workshops. These activities were designed to enhance participants’ understanding of cybersecurity challenges and solutions, fostering a collaborative environment for knowledge sharing.
Launch of Tripura Cyber Security Policy 2025
A significant highlight of the workshop was the launch of the Tripura Cyber Security Policy, 2025 (TCSP 2.0). This policy aims to address evolving cyber threats and establish a resilient, adaptive, and citizen-centric cyber ecosystem in the state. Shri S. Krishnan officially unveiled the policy, which serves as a guiding framework for securing Tripura’s IT and ICT systems. The new policy emphasizes the importance of strengthening institutional mechanisms and promoting collaborative actions between public and private sectors to ensure a safe cyberspace.
The TCSP 2.0 is expected to enhance the state’s capacity to respond to cyber incidents effectively. It aims to build a robust framework for cybersecurity that includes capacity building and intelligence sharing among various stakeholders. This initiative is crucial for safeguarding India’s digital infrastructure and national security.
National Cyber Security Awareness Month Initiatives
In October 2024, Tripura observed National Cyber Security Awareness Month (NCSAM) to promote cyber awareness and resilience across the state. Following the success of this initiative, the Tripura Cyber Security Awareness Month 2025 (TCSAM 2025) was launched during the workshop. The theme for this year’s campaign is “Cyber Jagrit Tripura,” aimed at further extending the outreach of cybersecurity awareness.
The TCSAM 2025 campaign will include a series of engaging activities designed to strengthen cyber hygiene among citizens, students, and government employees. The Secretary of MeitY, along with other dignitaries, unveiled the TCSAM 2025 mascot, “Raksha Mitra,” to enhance the initiative’s visibility. This month-long campaign will focus on capacity-building activities organized by the Directorate of IT in collaboration with various stakeholders.
