Sewa Parv 2025: Celebrating Developed India Through Art

The Ministry of Culture, Government of India, is set to host the Sewa Parv 2025 from September 17 to October 2, 2025, marking a nationwide celebration of service, creativity, and cultural pride. This initiative aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi‘s vision for a developed India by 2047. The festival aims to unite communities, institutions, and individuals in a collective movement centered around the themes of service and cultural expression. As part of this celebration, various art workshops and events are being organized across multiple cities, fostering civic responsibility and cultural celebration.

Art Workshops Across Major Cities

On September 28, 2025, the Ministry of Culture organized a series of art workshops in cities including New Delhi, Chandigarh, Kozhikode, Panaji, Bhubaneswar, and Prayagraj. These events were themed โ€œViksit Bharat ke Rang, Kala ke Sangโ€ and attracted enthusiastic participation from students, artists, and community leaders. In New Delhi, the National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA) hosted one of the largest workshops, with over 15,000 participants. Notable attendees included Delhi’s Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta and Padma Shri awardees, who encouraged the use of art as a medium to celebrate India’s diversity and progress towards a developed nation.

In Chandigarh, an art workshop at Kalagram, Manimajra, saw participation from more than 500 individuals. The event was led by Sh. Naveen Sharma, who inspired young artists to reflect cultural values through their creativity. Kozhikode also witnessed a vibrant gathering, with over 400 participants engaging in an art workshop at Vedavyasa Vidyalaya, guided by prominent local artists and educators.

Community Engagement and Participation

The Sewa Parv initiative emphasizes community involvement and aims to engage citizens in various creative expressions. In Panaji, Goa, an art workshop organized at Sanskruti Bhavan encouraged local participation, with MLA Shri Rajesh Faldesai motivating attendees to channel their aspirations for a developed India through art. Similarly, in Bhubaneswar, over 600 participants took part in a workshop organized by the Lalit Kala Akademi Regional Centre, where local MLA Shri Babu Singh praised the contributions of students and artists in shaping the vision for a developed nation.

In Prayagraj, an innovative workshop combined art with sustainability, where students created useful items from hygiene-based waste materials. This initiative highlighted the importance of creativity in promoting both cultural expression and environmental responsibility. Each of these events not only showcased artistic talent but also reinforced the collective commitment to civic duty and cultural pride.

Digital Participation and Contributions

To broaden participation, the Ministry of Culture has established a digital platform for the Sewa Parv initiative. Institutions across India are documenting their events on the Sewa Parv portal, allowing for a comprehensive showcase of activities. Citizens are encouraged to contribute by uploading their artworks and photographs, sharing their creative expressions on social media using the hashtag #SewaParv.

The portal also provides resources for branding and publicity materials, ensuring that the initiative reaches a wider audience. Individuals can participate by creating artworks based on the theme โ€œViksit Bharat ke Rang, Kala Ke Sangโ€ and uploading their creations online. Additionally, participants can join painting workshops at various locations across the country, further fostering community engagement and artistic collaboration.
