SECI Scores High Marks in Renewable Energy Performance Evaluation
The Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd. (SECI) has earned an “Excellent” rating for its performance under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE) for the financial year 2024–25. This remarkable achievement highlights SECI’s robust institutional performance and its effective execution of responsibilities aimed at supporting India’s renewable energy initiatives.
In a recent assessment, SECI garnered an impressive score of 97.36 out of 100, reflecting its operational efficiency, governance standards, and substantial contributions toward achieving the country’s renewable energy objectives. The rating evaluation considered crucial aspects such as operational performance, financial viability, project implementation, and adherence to strict corporate governance norms.
Significant Contributions to Renewable Energy
As a key player in India’s renewable energy landscape, SECI continues to fulfill its mission as a Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise by facilitating the country’s renewable energy programs. By December 31, 2025, SECI had awarded over 76 GW of cumulative renewable energy generation capacity, with signed Power Sale Agreements (PSAs) exceeding 60 GW. This positions the corporation as a leader in the sector.
Impressive Financial Growth
During the fiscal year 2024–25, SECI reported an 18.48 percent increase in annual power trading volumes, amounting to 50.87 billion units traded. Additionally, the corporation achieved total income soaring past 15,000 crore INR, marking a year-on-year growth of 16.54 percent. The profit after tax (PAT) was recorded at ₹501.92 crore, reflecting a 15.11 percent increase over the prior year.
