Seamless Travel Unveiled: MLFF Tolling System at Shahjahanpur

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has launched the Multi-Lane Free Flow (MLFF) tolling system at the Shahjahanpur Toll Plaza, located on the Delhi–Jaipur section of NH-48 in Rajasthan. This rollout marks a significant advancement towards a more efficient travel experience, previously initiated at Daulatpura and Manoharpura Toll Plazas on the same route. The implementation of MLFF at Shahjahanpur enhances the journey from Manesar to Jaipur by eliminating barriers, creating a smoother flow of traffic for those using National Highways.

The innovative MLFF framework introduces barrier-less tolling, allowing vehicles to navigate toll points without halting, which significantly contributes to uninterrupted traffic movement. As a result, commuters will enjoy zero waiting times, saving valuable time during their travels. Additionally, the elimination of stop-and-go traffic at toll booths enhances fuel efficiency and helps decrease vehicular emissions, making it a more environmentally friendly option.

Equipped with Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technology, the system seamlessly integrates with FASTag-based Electronic Toll Collection. This ensures that toll fees are automatically deducted from users’ accounts, aligning with the Government of India’s commitment to improving citizens’ experiences by leveraging technology to enhance both Ease of Living and Ease of Doing Business.

To ensure a hassle-free travel experience with the MLFF system, users must maintain sufficient balance in their FASTag accounts. In situations where there is an insufficient balance, or if the FASTag is invalid or nonfunctional, an Electronic Notice (E-Notice) will be issued for non-payment of toll fees. Users must settle these charges within 72 hours of receiving the E-Notice. Failure to do so will incur a penalty, with the user fee doubling after the deadline. Payments for E-Notices can be conveniently processed through the designated portal.

The implementation of MLFF is not only improving the travel experience for users but is also strengthening the overall tolling ecosystem. By enhancing transparency and reducing the operational costs associated with traditional toll plazas, the NHAI is paving the way for more efficient toll operations across the nation.
